Our latest project for Steyning Football Club in West Sussex saw us specify, source, modify, and install four 40-foot shipping containers, transforming them into a space perfect for sports team changing rooms.
Why Shipping Containers?
Steyning FC needed a new changing room facility but wanted to avoid the high costs and long build times associated with modular or brick-built structures. That’s where our container-based solution came in.

✔️ Speed of Installation: The entire setup was installed far quicker than a conventional build, reducing disruption for the club.
✔️ Future-Proofed: Should the club need to relocate or reconfigure the facility in the future, the containers can be easily moved, providing long-term flexibility.
Seamless Delivery & Installation
Working alongside our delivery partner and parent company Sussex Transport, we ensured a smooth and efficient installation:
🚛 Transport: The four modified 40-foot containers were delivered using Sussex Transport’s flatbed artic fleet.
🏗️ Contract Lift Installation: Using a specialist site crane, the units were positioned precisely and securely, avoiding any damage to the pitch or surrounding area.
🔧 Fully Modified Units: The containers were modified offsite and were ready to bolt perfectly together on installation day – the ground was prepared and the containers perfectly positioned and locked into place.
A Winning Result
The club now has a fantastic new facility that meets their needs while keeping costs down, installation time to a minimum, and future options open. Another great example of how ST Containers can deliver smart, scalable solutions for sports clubs!
